JEM Consulting, Inc. is pleased to announce that it’s Founder and Managing Director, Gary M. Jacobs, will be joining Alvarez & Marsal, a leading global professional services firm specializing in turnaround and interim management, performance improvement and business advisory services, as a director in the firm’s Private Equity Services Operations Group. He will be based in New York.

Mr. Jacobs brings over 20 years of finance, operations and information technology leadership and performance improvement experience to Alvarez & Marsal. He founded JEM Consulting, Inc. in 1998, and over the years has served several companies in the media, entertainment, consumer goods and industrial manufacturing industries, including Take-Two Interactive, Sirius/XM Radio, Intelsat/PanAmSat, LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics, and Emerson Electric. He has also held interim VP Finance, CIO and IT management positions with distressed and private equity portfolio companies, including Atlas Air, Geneva Watch and Take-Two Interactive. Prior to forming JEM Consulting, Inc., Mr. Jacobs was a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, responsible for leading a NYC based process reengineering and ERP systems implementation practice. Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Jacobs was a Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for middle market manufacturing, media and information services companies.

At Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Jacobs will work with the firm’s private equity clients performing restructuring, merger and acquisition, carve-out and divestiture due diligence; post transaction execution and support; interim executive management; and corporate performance improvement.

Mr. Jacobs earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the State University of New York and a MBA from Adelphi University. He also studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts, and Digital Media Strategy at New York University.
